About This Project
Reforma de una vivienda unifamiliar entre medianeras de casi 100 años de antigüedad en el casco antiguo de Monda, idílico pueblo blanco andaluz en la provincia de Málaga.
Tradicional casa mata, casa patio en dónde todos los espacios principales miran al mismo. Este patio le da la vida a la casa, pulmón de aire y sol que genera tranquilidad a todas sus estancias. Es por eso que se ha diseñado este espacio con énfasis minimalista, respetando el alma y espíritu de la vivienda original, manteniendo algunos muros de piedra originales. Su variada vegetación consta de naranjos, limoneros, olivos, buganvillas, strelitzias, dama de noche y jazmines que bañan de aromas nos solamente el patio, sino también todos los espacios interiores de la vivienda.
Consta de dos plantas, planta noble más pública en la baja, con vestíbulo, salón, comedor, cocina, y su patio; y dormitorios con sus respectivos baños en la planta alta.
El diseño de los espacios interiores es muy respetuoso con el “alma natural de la vivienda”, poco intervencionista, modernizando, pero manteniendo y recuperando muchos elementos compositivos de la vivienda original, tales como muros de piedra, recuperación de éstas por ensanchamiento de ventanas (para tener más luz en el interior) y recolocándolas como revestimiento, restaurando sillas, puertas, cubiertas y falsos techos de madera.
El arte está presente en toda la casa, destacando un par de obras del famoso artista malagueño José Luis Puche, enfatizando “Fuego y Porcelana”, última obra de su período de “plumas”.

Renovation of a single-family home is almost 100 years old, in the old town of Monda, an idyllic white Andalusian town in the province of Malaga.
Traditional courtyard house where all the main spaces look it. This patio gives life to the house, a lung of air and sun that generates tranquility in all its rooms. That is why this space has been designed with a minimalist emphasis, respecting the soul and spirit of the original home, maintaining some original stone walls. Its varied vegetation consists of orange trees, lemon trees, olive trees, bougainvilleas, strelitzias, dama de noche and jasmines that bathe not only the patio, but also all the interior spaces of the home with a lovely variation of perfumes.
It consists of two floors, a more “public” floor on the ground floor, with a hall, living room, dining room, kitchen, and its patio; bedrooms with their respective bathrooms on the upper floor.
The design of the interior spaces is very respectful of the “natural soul of the home”, little interventionist, modernizing, but maintaining and recovering many compositional elements of the original home, such as stone walls, recovery of these by widening the windows ( to have more light inside) and replacing them as cladding, restoring chairs, doors, covers and false wooden ceilings.
Art is present throughout the house, highlighting a couple of works by the famous Malaga artist José Luis Puche, emphasizing “Fuego y Porcelana”, the last work of his “feathers” period.
